This Bollywood designer, of course, seemed to favour of a riot of colours on the ramp. Rocky
probably had the bridal market in mind, while designing this collection. He used jamevars, silk and hand-woven fabrics from Banaras for this collection. The dhamaka that was in store came in the form of cricketer Virender Sehwag walking the ramp in a blue bandhgala. His walk drew the loudest cheer from the audience. In all, the look of the collection was glamorous, young and sexy.
Speaking on his much-talked about blouses, Rocky said, Creativity of a designer comes across through the cuts of the blouses. I designed the clothes keeping Kolkata in mind. Though Sehwag didnt turn up for the press conference, Rocky S revealed that the batsman was quite chilled out in his outfit and was not at all nervous. For the designer, it was half the battle won. On using Sehwag as his
showstopper, he said, I chose the Indian batsman as I wanted to break away from the mould of Bollywood, which Im always associated with.
What we liked: The ornamental blouses and the bandhgalas.
What could have been improved: Gautam Bhimani said, The clothes were bright, keeping the festive season in mind. There could have been more drama on the ramp.
